2nd-hand camera valuation based on shutter count

Hi guys,

What is the rule of thumb when it comes to evaluating second paw cameras based on shutter count? Let's say consumer photographic camera's are rated 100k, semi pro 150k and pro 200k. What would you consider as "similar new", "mint", "eight/10" etc...whats the max s.c. you'd exist happy with in relation to % of price of new camera?

For semi-pro cameras (say d750 nikon or eos 5d mk2) it would be: "similar new" is s.c. 0-100 and upward to 90% original price, "mint" is southward.c. < 1k and shld be ard 80% original cost, 9/ten south.c <10k and ard 75% original price, 8/10 due south.c. < 20k and 60-70% price. Would yous agree?

Plus, should there be some official guidelines regardng this on the market - gummy note?

Cheers,

ane

I would merely buy a second hand trunk via local inspection or with extremely liberal return policy for not local.

Shutter count is a tiny tiny piece of the pie. I saw a second hand on eBay that conspicuously showed a completely scratched upwards or smeared mirror. That alone puts it off my buy list, only for someone just concerned with 'shutter' count' and non paying close detail to bodily condition...

This is an example of a stay away sale -

It shows issues with the mirror which means non-expert fiddling with the mirror box which is an automatic hell no.

Re: Second-mitt camera valuation based on shutter count

Its always amend to buy used cameras from reputed sellers who offering a 30 to 90 day warranty. If you examination information technology thoroughly, problems if whatever would definitely ingather upwards in a week or 2.

Its always better to inspect and buy an used camera if being sold past an individual. A camera used by a pro in a studio environment having shutter count of 40K is better than a camera that was owned by an amateur and has like less than 4k shutter count but abused to such an extent like experimenting with self sensor cleaning, attempting or trying different mountain lens which might damage mountain pins, careless treatment resulting in dropping which results in play in the seals, calorie-free leaks nearly the mount etc.,

If yous find a good deal on ebay, better to purchase if the seller fully confirms its condition and accepts return with in atleast xv days if the photographic camera is not in a skillful shape or take any inherent bug.
