How To Change Your Cursor On Your Tumblr Blog
i'm inlove with ur aesthetic mod! where'd you get ur cursor :0 hopefully this doesn't disturb you!
thank you! i made my cursor myself :D when you go into edit appearance -> scroll all the way down to advanced options -> add custom css, you can put in some code there
body, *, a, a:hover { cursor:url(IMG_URL), auto; }
this is the code I used! of course, replace "IMG_URL" with the actual image url for the cursor you're wanting to use.
i hope this helped and you're not disturbing me at all <3

Custom Cursors
If you, too, are using tumblr in the year 2021 and would like to use a custom cursor, you may have noticed that the code in some other posts just doesn't work anymore. So here is an updated tutorial on how to do that. Note that I have not tried doing this on mobile, so I'm not sure if it's possible.
Step 1: Get an image
Basically just look for a cursor on the internet and do right click > copy image link. An important consideration for this is that the url of the site it's on has to say https and not http or it won't work.
This image also has to be smaller than 128 x 128 I think, but it's recommended to be 32 x 32.
If you want to create your own image, you can just upload the image to imgur in order to get a url (you don't need an account). I made my cursor using piskelapp.com but you can use whatever as long as it fits the size above.
(More steps under the cut)
Step 2: Find the place you put the code
Under the blog menu thing (under the profile icon in the top right), go to Edit Appearance, and then the big button that says Edit Theme. Once you're there, scroll all the way down and click on "Advanced options". There should be a field that says "add custom css".
You can also put the code in the HTML of the blog theme itself, but I find this method easier.
Step 3: Put in the code
Paste this:
html, body, a, a:hover { cursor:url('URL HERE'), auto !important; }
If you're putting this in the html of the blog theme instead of the "add custom css" thing, add <style> to the beginning and </style> to the end.
And then you just replace URL HERE (leave the apostrophes) with the url you found in step 1, and then save it.
Yay ur done
If it worked, then congrats, you now have a custom mouse cursor on your blog page!
Special thanks to the website I stole the code from.
There is also a chance this did not work, and I know how frustrating that is so I will attempt to help. Here's a test image to figure out if it's an image problem or a code problem. This image worked when I tried it on my blog, so if the code works with this image and not yours, then it's probably a problem with the image itself and not the actual code, so maybe just pick a different image. If it still doesn't work then maybe the code changed again idk.
I hope this helped you nonetheless. Bye

How to use a custom cursor!
1. Find a cursor set you like.
Some pages for that:
https://cute-cursors.com http://www.rw-designer.com/cursor-library
2. Download
3. Go to This PC/Windows(C:)/Windows/Cursors
4. Drag the folder with your custom cursors into this folder.
5. Unzip if it's a zip file. Otherwise just live them in the folder that you downloaded.
6. in your Windows search bar, type in "mouse".
7. Find the mouse properties. I click the "Change the mouse pointer speed or display" to get there.
8. You might get error messages, just click ok on them.
9. Click "pointers"
10. Under Customize, select the different types, then browse.
11. Go through the folder you're being sent to until you find one of the custom cursors you downloaded and select to match the different cursor types.
12. Then hit apply and OK.
Now you should have custom cursor active, and with this method on activating it should not reset itself to the default cursor once you restart your pc.

Voltron-Themed Paladin Cursors!
A cursor for each lion. Black, Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow. The pictures above are .png files that haven't been made into proper cursors yet. Check the read more if you want to download them.
Now, the below files aren't actually .cur files, as far as I'm aware I can't upload them onto Tumblr that way. Instead, I converted them into .png files so that I could upload them. This means that if you want to use them you have to do the following:
1. Download whichever cursor(s) you want from the images below.
2. go to "cursor.cc" a website which allows you to make your own cursors.
3. Click "import image" and then "choose image."
4. Find and select whichever file(s) you downloaded and click open.
5. Go over to the right and hit the box besides "hotspot."
6. Click at the end or point of the cursor.
7. Scroll down to below the drawing area and hit "download cursor."
(From here on out it could be different depending on your computer)
8. Go to you computer settings.
8. Find your mouse settings. (Should be under devices)
9. Click "additional mouse settings."
9. Click the "pointers" section.
10. Click "browse."
11. Find and select the cursor you wish to use.
12. Hit "apply" and then "okay."

Pixel Cursors
So I wanted a custom cursor for my desktop theme but I got carried away and learned how to make them myself! These were really fun actually. I did the blinking animated one before realizing my theme doesn't support animated cursors lmao.
They're 2D's eye (if you couldn't tell) and I think I'll do some more, this was fun.
